It's been a long time since I acted nuts trying to get my husband's attention but yesterday, I had a boy use it on my girl IN FRONT OF ME! (Our story is in this blog; both my part and my husband's.)
My daughter and I had picked up some snacks at Walmart so she could have some girls over this weekend. As we were walking back to the car, a truck with two boys pulled up next to us.
He just started talking to us, like he knew who we were...."Hey, I'll be over later with some pop and chips. Maybe I'll bring....."
My daughter was silent. She is a quiet sort, like her father. I truly thought he thought we were someone else so I said "You are talking to people you don't know."
He said, "Yeah, I know. So, I'll probably even bring over some popcycles and..."
Then it hit me...he was hitting on my daugher.
No longer ignorant I replied, "Oh! Okay. Well, you guys just work that out then." (pointing to my daughter and him) Flabergasted, she said nothing.
Yes, my daughter is beautiful. She doesn't wear makeup by her choice. She doesn't need to. She has a quiet spirit and she glows from within.
She is very humble about her looks and refused to acknowledge he could have been hitting on her but I KNOW BETTER. I've been there....done that....to her Dad who was just as humble and oblivious as she is to a suitor's advances.

Oh my, I was shy when I was introced to my Husband and I was very quiet and very shy but he broke through the shell and have been married to my Best friend for 23 years.

Good grief, can't he do better than popsicles?? lol Your daughter sounds like a sweet girl. So many wolves out there, circling the flock. :-)
Too funny!
Hope the guy didn't follow you home!
Great story!
Funny, lol
Such a sweet story - would love to know the next chapter.
Well, it's a different line, I'll give him that, LOL!
I wonder if DD didn't glow a little brighter on the inside though. It is flattering when you realize you had just been hit on; even if to save face she denies it... but inside... perhaps a seed has been planted.
LOL! What a cute story. He has guts... to hit on your daughter in front of her mum. Gotta give him credit for that ^.^
Hugs,
Veronica.
Too cute! I agree with Veronica. He's pretty gutsy to hit on her with you around!
Parsley,
I recently commented that your daughter would soon have boys after her attention and affections. Things are as they should be! Welcome to the club.

LOL, your daughter sounds like me. Oblivious to being hit on! I've always told people I need to be hit upside the head with a 2x4. LOL
We do our best raising our kids and you and your hubby have done a nice job with the daughter! Your story is sweet and only a mother could figure that one out so quickly! LOL! Grea story to share!
Well, there is ONE smart guy! Your daughter will be a wonderful catch for some super-lucky guy.
