This weekend, we are having a tea party. Please join us!
My daughter and I adore hot tea. We decided to serve French Vanilla black tea with milk and sugar. Our favorite tea cookie is a recipe I've cooked since I was little. Back then, I called them 'Roly Polies' but adults call them Snickerdoodles. (The recipe is at the bottom of this post.) They are in the center of our dish surrounded by various cookies we enjoy from the store as well as creme horns topped with a strawberry slice.
We figured some of our dogs would visit for a cookie and cuppa and wouldn't you know it, we were right.
Cookie has a bite of cookie and drank some milk. By the way, she is named Cookie because of this spot on her back that looks like our Snickerdoodle cookies. She is the guest of honor!
Mariposa was begging for milk and had a bite of cookie as well.
One thing we learned is that if you have a tea party with dogs, they are good for cleaning crumbs off the floor and apparently, they are absorbent when you spill. Mariposa was a literal sponge but she didn't mind. I toweled her off and she helped clean the spill.
Won't you join our tea party? May we visit yours? Leave us a comment so we can visit. Post a picture of your party if you can. Tell us what you served and give us your favorite dessert recipe for your cuppa tea or coffee.
Enjoy everyone and happy WEEKEND!

oh the Snickerdoodles and Tea sound so good. Loved this blog.
Have a lovely weekend.
Hi! I haven't set up my tea party yet... but I'll say this. It would have little cucumber sandwiches, those raspberry tea cookies, a pitcher of milk and some tea cups with tea in it. And Buddy would be watching over everything, to make sure he catches every crumb that falls. Have fun!
I love tea AND coffee and drink both on a regular basis. I'll have to see if I can have a few moments for a tea party this weekend. Hubby and I have to head off for a 6hr round trip drive tomorrow to pick up our boys from bible camp and I know I'll spend Sunday doing the stinky weeks worth of 2 boys laundry. Maybe I'll get a moment in the evening to get a picture of my tea to post.
Yummy!
Yep, dogs make great party guests. Of course, if they're as picky as my Kero they'll only clean up from certain types of foods (he's even picky about the types of cookies he'll clean up after). Still, Willow is still here, and she'll eat anything that stays still long enough, so she can clean up for me this weekend! ;)
