Sage Cooks and PAWty Invite for PETS

Sage and I have really been pampering Rosie (the Golden Retriever) and of course the rest of the dogs join in. Rosie doesn't eat much anymore, especially since her stroke last week, so we feed her whatever she'll eat.

Seems Rosie prefers GRILLED burgers over ground meat. So guess what...we stand outside in 100 degrees and cook for her. No joke.

Sage felt sorry that I was doing most of the cooking, so he did his part. It's no secret that he is not good at starting fires (only putting them out) and he totally stinks at cooking on the grill. Last year he had blisters from a burn...but we won't go there.

This VOLUNTEER FIRE FIGHTER found his cooking experience an interesting one. He rushed in to get my water bottle. Apparently the flames were overtaking the grill. Note to Sage...you are good at many things but leave the grill to Parsley next time. LOL!

Here is the fire fighter putting out the flames. Guess this time he was able to finally START a fire AND put it out. HAHAHA

As to Rosie, she is hanging in there. She is still weak in her hind legs but she lives for these special meals. We are enjoying every moment with the pack.

Hi Parsley

I.ve just become a new follower of your blog.

I loved your tea=party idea and this PAWty!
Sorry to hear about Rosie but glad that she is enjoying her burgers!
Your blog is lovely!

Poor Rosie! My son's golden retriever, Molly had to be put to sleep shortly after his dad (my husband)died. It was heartbreaking for him.
I think it is great that you are taking such good care of Rose.

I am smiling at the pic of your fire fighter having to put out the fire on the grill.

I love the idea of a pawty! I'll have to take some pictures of Annie. She's been more of a devil than a diva recently.

Your picture of Sage is priceless! Poor, dear Rosie. I too have prayed for her. Count Mabel in on the PAWty. :)

Haha! Yeah, maybe you should keep doing the cooking!

Kero's gotten picky (more so than usual) since he had his 8th birthday at the end of May. It's as if he's decided that at his time of life he deserves only the finer things, and this includes having meat meant for humans rather than dog food (he was picky about dog food as it is). He started refusing to eat, so we decided to cook him some chicken to see if we could tempt him... He ate it right up. The result is that now we cook meat for the dogs every day, because otherwise Kero wont eat. Yes, even in hot weather. The things we do for our dogs, eh?

I'm sure Kero will be happy to join the party. With the mess she's gotten them in, I don't think Willow will want to share a photo of her paw though (if she's still here, since we're still unsure about exactly when she's going back to my Mam). But I'm pretty sure Kero will want to join in; he likes being included in things, and loves posing for the camera in any pose, so I'm sure he wont mind having his paw photographed.

I think about Rosie alot. Poor baby...she couldn't be in a better place for care though.

Hmm....well I love a party but as you know I don't have any pets. So...am I permitted to join the party if I borrow my neighbors little muffin?

Parsley,
It hurts my heart to read about Rosie's declining health issues although I am happy she has you and your husband to tend to her needs.
Sage: Only YOU can prevent barbecue fires. hehehe
