I remember a song called True Colors by Cindi Lauper. Sometimes when I see some one's true colors, I feel disappointment.
I've seen 'true colors' of people through their online communications. I don't think people, who claim they are Christians, realize how they come across, or maybe they don't care. They ruin their testimonies. They soil their own reputations. They come across as mean spirited and down right unloving. In fact, they tell others not to do the very things they themselves are doing. That is called hypocrisy.
I understand the need to express thoughts and opinion but it's not okay to demean others for their convictions behind their backs.
These behaviors are just a confirmation that some people are not as 'good' as they claim to be. They troll for conflict and debate. They curse too much and encourage too little. Anger dwells in hearts like these, not love. I do not have room for people like that in my life or in my online world.
James 1:26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.

We hope no one said anything to offend you - that makes me so mad with online communications! Have a great evening.
Amen!
Hi Parsley....I hear my friend....Blessings Francine.
Totally agree with everything you said, Parsley. We are to be Jesus' ambassadors here on earth; representing him. We should be very careful how we do that task to lead others to him and not away from him.

Hear hear! We so agree. Have a lovely Monday.
Best wishes Molly
A valid point but as a Christian it is also ok to make mistakes and not be perfect. No one can be nice and lovely all the time; we are human and we have foibles and bad days. The mistake I believe is putting it online where it can hurt people. Some people make error of using the internet as a diary and they forget it is 'WORLD WIDE' rofl. Also, if we judge then we too are open to being judged. A thought provoking post Parsley xx I would say if someone has a negative effect on you, dis-connect with them unless you can help them xxxx We get one life and we should try to live it as best and as happily as we can without hurting others.
Hi Parsley. I can relate. I have never come across this online, I don't do facebook, twitter, etc. I have a problem with two of my three brothers. They swear. They do other things no Christian should do. Most people in life would think my brothers are fine, just like everyone else. THAT is the problem now isn't it. We are to be set apart. Not of this world.
Sometimes the true colors of people are really not what you expects! They is sometimes very mean and mommy says she thinks the same!!

I saw a quote posted outside a church here in my town. I think this should apply to those who need it. I agree with you.
"Your life is a better sermon than your lips."

Parsley,
I just realized I have to use the lap top if I want to comment on certain blogs (yours is one) so if you don't see a comment right away, don't think I'm not reading your posts, I always do first thing, but it's usually on the iPad. (It has something to do with the fact I don't have a google acct and am using open id)
Anyway, I agree. I found this out on Twitter {It's like being backstage at a beauty pageant -- not pretty} and Facebook. I hope I come across as genuine, I'm a Christian, but far from perfect.
Your Friend,
Deborah

I like that quotes about your life is a better sermon than your lips! I know a lot of church goers who live a good life on Sunday and the rest of the week raise Cain!
Recently with the disappearance, death (and shock of learning the killer was a teenage boy )of Jessica Ridgeway here in Colorado I watched her memorial service on a live stream video! Her mom's family is such a beautiful example of the true Christian spirit. They are in the midst of the worse possible scenario you can imagine as a parent and yet they let their light shine.
I am the most imperfect Christian I know! I have had to zip my lip regarding the presidential election. People are being deceived. That is all I know. Looks particularly can be deceiving and a persons belief can make one think long and hard before casting their vote. My son who attends a small Kansas college is being bothered by a girl on his XC team who is cheerleading for one of the candidates! I'll just say she attends the same church as one of the candidates! I think sometime you have to leave those personal differences aside!
Recently a woman I have known for 40 years called my daughter a moran because she likes the current president. Again, I think personal political beliefs are private. But I will not allow someone to call my adult child names and get away with it! I don't discuss who I voted for! It is my personald and private business! So I prayed, blocked her on all my accounts and decided from now on when people get radical about their political beliefs I am going to do the same to them! Name calling is childish and I don't have the time for such nonsense. I have plenty of friends who discuss lots of other things besides politics! UGH!
