Human-angels
My daughter came home from class Thursday and told me "You need to come outside." I see her holding this sweet puppy. It was in the middle of our country road and she picked him up. After trying the neighbors' houses, we made a sign and put it on the stop sign at the end of the street.
We settled him into a crate where he promptly ate two bowls of food and drank a whole bowl of water. Then he curled up on his towel and slept. Poor baby.
The next morning my daughter gave him a bath and took off ticks. We took him to the vet to see if he had a microchip. He didn't. It was our hopes that he had just gotten lost but likely, he was dumped.
The vet asked if she could take him to the shelter since she was going there and if they were full, she said she would board him at the clinic until he had a home. We told her we'd keep the sign up in case someone was looking for him...but no one called. In fact someone TORE our sign off the pole. We put another up, but still no call.
Well, the good news is, that a friend of the vet wanted him and though this puppy has to wait for his out-of-state owner to pick him up, he will have a home where he is spoiled and wanted.
I sometimes get really discouraged by humans. There seems to be little regard for other life (human or animal). But as I get discouraged, I think about the string of human-angels who do what it takes to make a difference. This string of events started with a disregard of life but my daughter was the first to stand up for what was good and right. I am so proud and so thankful for the others that joined with her to make a difference.

I don't get people either sometimes and their treatment towards animals. Poor little guy.
If it weren't for people like you and your daughter, I'd have written off the human race altogether long ago.
Such a cute lil' puppy... how could anyone hurt him deliberately?
And who would steal a "lost puppy" sign???????
Aw so sweet, it's nice to know this pup will have a new home where he will be wanted this time. I don't have any pets but don't understand people who get one because it's cute & small & then abandon them... It is a responsibility to own a pet, so only responsible people should have them! Nice news though thanks to your family!!
I agree with you, it saddens my heart that humans have no regard for animals. Kudos to you and your daughter for steeping in and helping out those that can not speak for them sleves :) We had a similar situation over the weekend it also ended with a happy ending :)
Why do people do that? We don't understand. Anyway better puppy was found and will go to a good forever home. Lucky escape and bravo to you. Have a marvelous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Please tell your daughter from us we are very proud of her for taking a stand and bringing that little soul home to you, (she must have learned compassion close to home and the heart) and then for him to find a new home already, the angels were watching out for him for sure!!
Thank you for this great story!

Oh what a sweet girl you have.
The pup is to precious.
So thankful he will have a home.
Woolie blessings
I have three dogs; one of whom is a dumped rescue dog. For every waster who has no respect for animal life, luckily there are one of us xxxxx
So glad that this sweet puppy has found a home where someone will love and care for him....
Oh, I love a happy ending. This precious boy certainly deserved a home. I am also appalled at the behavior of humans sometimes. Last week in Boston was a tragic example of the worst in us. But, it also displayed the best in us - people rushing into danger to help others.
God's love in us is the hope of the world.
Tell your daughter that her sweet and caring heart will take her far in life. And it is greatly noticed by the Great Shepherd!
GOD BLESS!
What a sweetie! So glad that you helped him find a home.
I'm so glad there are people like you with such caring hearts... the little guy is a cutie and I'm so glad he will have a new loving home. We believe our cat was a "drop off," too--he was the best thing to come into our lives when my sons were growing up. Adopted him and loved him for the next 14 years :)
Oh my goodness he was so sweet I am so glad her found a home. sandie
He looks like such a little tiny guy. I am so glad he found a forever home! And you know, he would never have if it wasn't for you and DD.
You give humanity a good name! :)
And I cant believe anyone would TEAR sign off like that. I wonder if it was the dumper. So cruel.
Oh, poor little dog. But so happy your daughter found him and brought him home where you fed and cared for him. I am so happy that soon he will have a home and live a happier life.
Hugs to you and your daughter!
Parsley,
This story made me cry...I'm so glad a happy home was found...There are many angels among us..the person who is taking in this cute puppy will be blessed!
So precious, hug your daughter for me.
Like mother, like daughter.
So happy that he strolled onto your daughter's path.
Your Friend,
Deborah
I also get discouraged by humans! Who in their right mind could leave a little innocent being like this out in the cold :( So glad he has a forever home! You and your daughter can go to bed knowing you did something truly heroic! :)
