My happy place retreat and 'wordless week' was fabulous! My husband and I tossed around the idea of visiting Disneyland and then just a few days before we actually left, we made hotel reservations! Normally we do more prep and planning but everything just fell into place.
It was a long drive and my buns were numb BUT I got some stitching done on the roads that weren't too bumpy. One of our stops out there included Flagstaff, AZ which is where I took the picture of the pine laden trail and where we saw all kinds of critters. (see pics from last week)
Ahh...the smell of pine trees and fresh air. It did us all good and soothed our souls. We stayed at Little America Hotel which whispered 'Downton Abbey' to me in it's decor.
We eventually arrived at the Disneyland Hotel. It was a splurge, but worth it. You might not be able to tell but the headboard fireworks light up. The pillows say "A dream is a wish your heart makes...when you're fast asleep". There were hidden Mickey Mouse references everywhere.
Staying here meant we were only minutes from Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure where we spent two days riding fun rides, laughing, screaming, and making memories. Guess what...I didn't need an electric cart and walked the whole time with no breathing issues. What a blessing!
Disneyland has wonderful and full of special smells from all the flowers. My daughter and I are also certain that if blindfolded we would recognize the smells from some of the rides, especially Pirates of the Caribbean. Arrgh!
The 'Cozy Cone' motel pictures were taken at California Adventure in Cars Land; it was a replica from the movie Cars. This area was a highlight for all of us! If you ever visit Disneyland, watch the movie, get a park hopper ticket and snatch a fast pass first thing for the racing ride...WONDERFUL!
The ride home was brutal as we drove 24 hours in two days time but being home to see 6 smiling dog faces was worth it. All in all, it was a great trip and I have more to share in future posts. I am going to catch up on some of your blogs, especially if you were kind enough to stop by here. 'See' you soon!

Glad you had a great time in Disneyland! I love it...it's the happiest place on earth! :)
Glad you had such a wonderful time!! You know, I live just down the road from Disneyland, and I don't think I've been there in well over 20 years! Crazy, huh?! Maybe it's cause my *kids* are all grown up?
But, I might add that there are few things in life more wonderful than being welcomed home by a dog...just sayin'!!
GOD BLESS!
