I've done very little stitching this week but here's what I've done so far on My Garden Journal's April Daisy. I'm stitching it on Butterscotch Cookie by Sassys Fabbys.
I've been occupied with the extra care of MANY dogs coming and going. Summer is a busy time for me. I've also started painting doors and trim in our house. We built this house ourselves (meaning my hubby) and toward the end, we just moved in without some final touches complete. After many years here, it's long over-due.

I'm disheartened by the news over last week. I just have no words. Scandal is everywhere. Right and wrong lines are blurred. Have we really become a people so confused by morality, freedom, privacy, and kindness in it all? Have we let our government grow out of control? Yes, we have.
I see people getting harassed for sharing their opinions. It's enough to make someone want to toss up their hands and say, "Forget it! It's not worth it to even say what I think."
I have one suggestion to those of you who feel your voices go unheard: Instead of being like the 'screamers', keep your voice alive but 'whisper' instead of going silent.
People shut down and tune out screaming voices as noise, but people tend to lean in closer to hear a gentle whisper.
Do not let your voices be silent. We are just as accountable for what we do NOT say as what we say in the end.

I've used the whisper on my boys ~ and it works!
I no longer trust our government to do the right thing for "we the people".
Sad world we live in - but I won't live forever and will escape to a better place.
I agree with Catherine's comment. I even suggested it to my mom for those times when my dad goes *on a rant*.
"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1, NIV)
We must learn to have the courage to speak up when necessary - even if it's with quiet words of wisdom.
GOD BLESS!
Lovely stitching and the fabric is gorgeous!
Your post made me think.
Have a good week.
Your last comment is very true. Good luck with the house projects. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
I dont know what the news was you heard but you are right: if it needs speaking about, go for it! I love the stitching...very very pretty. Def. one on the wish list xx
Beautiful stitching.:)
Good progress on your daisy piece, Parsley! And whispering works better than the screaming!

That is such a pretty WIP--beautiful choice in fabrics...
You're doing what I should be doing--painting trim!! We remodeled our house 17 years ago and everything is starting to look a bit distressed after the effects of raising three boys and one huge cat! Good luck :)
Excellent thoughts on the whisper approach!
Sweet stitches x
Really pretty stitching
Much wisdom spoken here.
Well said.
Looks like you've made some good stitchy progress. We have all those finishing touches that need to get done in our house too.
Wishing you and your family a Happy 4th!
Very pretty stitching
the colours are so sweet, definitely love the fabric you chose
and each time you have sentences that make me think...=)
you always find the right words...
xxxx
Great progress Parsley.

Parsley,
You are doing a beautiful job on the sampler. I remain calm and confuse the screamers with facts. I am then labeled a racist (which is now code for: I don't like what you said.)
Your Friend,
Deborah
Very pretty progress. I have recently got the first 2 of these :)
