Contact your Representatives, Please

Congress passed a bill allowing federal workers to get back pay whenever they come back to work. Contractors to government facilities will not.

My husband works as a contractor to the EPA. One could argue that having contractors is a way to make government look smaller.

These people sit next to them in the same buildings providing support and they will be without a pay check. The federal employees get paid days off. Wow.

Don't let the antics fool you. People will be hurting. It's more than closed down parks and buildings. Please contact your representatives!!

Double check with the state of OK. I saw a blurb on TX's unemployment site that federal workers may be able to get unemployment. This may extend to contractors for the government. I know it would not be the full amount, but it would be better than $0. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

The whole situation is a cluster umm... mess. It should never have happened - we have horrible leadership (or lack thereof) in this country.

No kidding. I heard that they even closed off highway overlooks at Mount Rushmore so that people couldn't SEE it. They've also gone to all the expense to put up barricades to keep people out of places. It's just ridiculous. I'm surprised they didn't try to cover the Grand Canyon with a tarp.
