International Mailing...LOST

Have any of you who do exchanges or mail items between countries had a package go MISSING? Is there any way to follow up on it's location?

Sadly, I sent a package to Kaye (Kitten Stitching) and she never received it. It makes me sad because I was so proud of what I stitched for her. Well, Kaye, here is what should have arrived. So sorry it didn't get there. :-(

Sometimes, it just takes a verrrry long time for a package to arrive to an international address.

Oh Parsley I am sorry that happened. I was to receive a stitched gift from Jo in Scotland for MY BIRTHDAY IN JUNE!! She sent it IN MAY!! It has never, ever arrived. =(

May be it is just delayed.....let's hope so. Unless you pay extra for tracking there is no real way. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly

Parsley,
It's been my experience that {snail} mail can be very slow. I have a friend in Belgium and we get each other's mail within a week, however when I mail things to Canada it can take a month! Go figure. Hopefully it will show up. Ask your postoffice if you can track it.

It still could arrive--don't give up hope! It once took a package from Spain two months to arrive here in the U.S. We had both given up, but then it suddenly appeared...

Love your kitty that you stitched :)

I had sooo many little parcel disappearing between UK & France... Now, I send everything with international signed for (recorded delivery). It costs more but if it doesn't get delivered I can complain & my goods are insured. It is such a shame, it really was a lovely parcel!

I'm hoping it just took the slow mule pulled wagon and the row boat and will get there yet.

I don't know how to track down mail - UPS is a bit better with that - not that it matters or helps.

I hope that your package gets delivered soon. I find that it takes 2 weeks at a minimum if you are lucky. Love the kitty ornie you sent!

Oh Parsley - I'm still holding out hope that it will arrive. But yes, to answer your question, I have had mail go missing. It's frustrating.

It should eventually arrive, or be returned to you. If you shipped online, you can see online the tracking info. If you went to the post office, you would have gotten a receipt? The tracking info is on that. OOh that's so sad. I'm sorry Kaye! I find it much harder to ship anything to Germany. I have no problems with other countries, just Germany for some reason. Even bulky cards get returned to me.

USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, all those including your post office will have a tracking app on their website. hope hope hope you can find the number and go to whatever website and enter it and it'll tell you where it is at the moment if it isnt lost!

It seems it takes forever when mailing overseas, however I have had things never arrive at their destination. My post office told me there wasn't anything they could do after it left here.
It is frustrating for sure. Hopefully it will arrive.

Good news, Parsley - I arrived home last night after spending the day with Dad settling Mum into the Nursing Home ( a very hard, stressful day, I can tell you!) to find a notification from the Post Office telling me that I have a parcel waiting for me to pick up - it is early morning here so I am just waiting patiently for the P.O. to open so I can pick it up. Yay! So excited, your parcel looks amazing!
hugs, Kaye

If you sent it USPS, and you have the tracking number - and there should be one, since it is International Mail - go to USPS.com and click on track and confirm - then put the number in. Or your Post Office can do it for you.

I have had post go missing but not international, only national. It makes my blood boil, because, really, where does it go to!!!!!

Sooo many times, but more often than not it is within the country! How can it happen?! Especially when we have a bank holiday, everything due to arrive never makes it here...clearly it means that a sack of mail was misplaced or something, as it is more than one item I am waiting on...annoys me so much especially when they keep increasing the postage cost!

A lovely parcel, I hope it is just delayed and arrives safely.

I know US ladies who have sent to me in an exchange in the past have sent it 'tracked' it does costs a little more.

OH NO! I would say don't loose hope just yet. I sent an exchange package once and it took nearly 2 months to reach its destinations.

There's nothing worse than feeling like you let someone down and having done all that hard work (labour and costs) all for naught!

I hope everything turns ok in the end.
