Questions: Coffee and Tea Fans

As many of you know, I am a hot tea fan. Over the years, I've tried teas from fancy to common and have narrowed down my favorites. I have learned how to 'properly' prepare my morning tea. In fact, I wonder if I have become a tea snob.

I prefer black teas, long leaf is best, with one sweetener and a dash of milk. My favorites are Bigelow French Vanilla black tea, Bigelow Earl Grey, Lipton Black Pearl or Natural Energy long leaf, and Teavana Earl Grey Creme. I've discovered I dislike fruity teas and spiced or Chai teas.

My husband and daughter prefer coffee but like tea (opposite of me). In fact, my dear daughter IS a coffee snob. She is always willing to try a new roast but can taste the delicate, distinct differences in them. (Like I am with tea.) She prefers a very dark roast with milk and a couple of sweeteners. Once I told her that her extra dark coffee grounds smelled like an ash tray...she had to agree. Hahaha! She likes Caribou brand coffee for our Keurig.

Hubby doesn't want anything fancy. Just give him Foldger's medium roast with milk and 7-8 teaspoons of sugar. No, I'm not kidding. It's a ridiculous amount of sugar but it's only one cup a day so I don't give him a hard time.

I would really like to know what beverage you prefer and the brand, type, and preparation of your morning cuppa.  Do you drink your hot coffee or tea even on HOT summer months? I do.

Maybe we can learn about some new brands or ways of preparation by sharing with each other. I'm just genuinely curious. Maybe some of us will decide to share samples...hmm...any takers? I can organize that.

Oh...if you are looking for the giveaway post, it's below. ;-)

I'm definitely a coffee drinker, although I like hot tea once in a while. Nothing fancy, just basic coffee, usually whatever's on sale. I add a little milk and two spoons of sugar and have two cups every morning no matter what time of year or what the temperature is. When I drink hot tea, I like spiced or chai teas or French Vanilla.I make it in the evening, and I add a little honey and a little milk.
Have a great day :-)

I love my coffee and yes, it is my favorite all year around. No sugar or anything in it. Black! I have found that I like the dark roasts the best and what I've been buying for several months now is, Maxwell House Dark Roast.

Maxwell House Master Blend coffee, hot or cold and Tetley Tea British Blend. I love to try other specialty teas with no favorites to mention.

I like both tea and coffee, but as I live in a country where tea isn't that big of a deal I struggle to find something different. But I love Earl Grey (Lipton is the brand I most find here) with a bit of milk and no sugar. Love coffe too, altought I can't push it love expresso. Volluto from Nespresso is my favourite. Oh and I do drink hot tea in the summer :)

My husband is a tea snob and I have become one as well. He likes black tea and gets loose PG Tips tea (we have a British import store). I prefer greens and whites with honey. My favorite tea I cannot currently find is a white tea with roses in it. My second favorite is Jasmine green.

I think one of the keys to making good tea is to get a kettle that does different temperatures. Ours has a setting for white and green so our tea doesn't turn out too bitter. We also use inginuitea infusers for making the tea. They give the loose tea lots of room to bloom. Another thing that people don't consider is water quality. We started filtering our water last year and the tea tastes so much better.

We also have a tea shop in Denton. They do lots of stuff with tea including teachinos and tea spritzers (which is iced tea with sparkling water, I love it with Jasmine tea).

I won't touch coffee with a 10 foot pole but we use a Keurig in this household because a whole pot goes to waste. We don't always use the premade K cups and we have several different single serving devices we use with it.

Love coffee and like tea! Prefer medium roasts, but nothing flavored. I don't like flavored tea either! Has your husband tried Millstone Foglifter coffee? It is one of our favorites for the Keurig.

I'm pretty boring - my beverage of choice is water. Year round with lots of ice. If I get super cold, I will have some hot cocoa but that is rare. At one point I drank a lot of iced tea and a lot of soda but I don't drink either now. Booooring!

Bigelow Vanilla Chai is my favorite! With more than a dash of milk and a little sugar. Real pick me up on weekend mornings!

Your hubby and I drink our coffee the same way, except I only use 2-3 teaspoons of sugar, depending on how strong my hubby makes the coffee. We were buying fair trade coffee from our church, but the price is now almost $12 for a 12oz bag. We have bought some flavored coffees from Aldi when they have it.

We also drink iced tea, but rarely have hot tea.

I'm a coffee drinker by preference. Milk and one sweetener although I will drink it however it comes, black,no sugar, four sugars, I'm not fussed! With tea though, it has to be breakfast tea made with good water and milk but no sugar. Hmmm is that the sound of the kettle clicking on?

Prefer tea but will drink coffee. Both have to be de-caff.
I've tried lots over time, but always come back to the basic good old teabag!

My favorite teas are Murchies from Canada. Loaded up when we were there (years ago) and still are my favorite. LOVE Prince Charles and Royal Blend:) Those teas I like HOT!
I am mostly an cold beverage with lots of ice for the summer.
My favorite coffee is Yuban decaff with Mull spices added (I add a pinch of spices on top of the coffee in the filter).

I like both, coffee and tea, but usually like my tea iced and my coffee hot (I don't care for iced coffee!). I drink Caribou Blend in the office. I like Hazelnut - my brother likes the dark "burnt" ones.

Is it too late to comment? Lol...wow do I love my coffee. I prefer a dark roast too like your daughter and have a splash of cream (milk is for tea!) and a spoon of organic can sugar in my coffee. I usually have two cups in the morning and I drink tea in the evenings. I love all kinds of teas. My favourites are Cream of Early Grey (from the Great wall of tea company a local tea store), Roasted Pear Rooibos (same place and seriously good), Murchies English Breakfast tea, Organic Vanilla Rooibos, Honey Bush and sometimes I love to have a cup of Jasmine Pearls (expensive!) with a spoonful of organic honey :D
