I did NOT faint in Walmart

It's that glorious time of year when the FLU is spreading. I took the flu shot last year for my EMT but not this year. Apparently it wasn't effective for the strain going around anyway. Schools are closing in our little town.

Any person with even a wee-bit of germ phobia would be cautious. I am nowhere near 'Monk' in the OCD department but there are times where I become hyper-aware of germs to the point of 'seeing' them.

Here's a recent Facebook post of mine. You can laugh WITH me or AT me, but for those that relate, I tip my cup of 'vitamin voo-doo juice' to you. We may still catch it but we will almost faint trying NOT to....

I had to go to Walmart. Fearing the flu, I went early in hopes of missing large crowds. I timed inhalation and exhalation when walking past others. I held my breath when sharing an aisle with coughing people. I almost fainted. Just kidding....sorta.

Well, I am glad you didn't faint! Think of all those germs you would have picked up from the floor. Stay well, Parsley!

Enjoy your weekend!

I got my flu shot early in the season before I knew it might not do much good. So far, so good. Hope the winter is healthy for both of us.

Good to see you here! I had my flu shot after nearly dying last year, and seriously, when I say that! I was so sick it took me three months to get my energy level back! People that have the flu this year told me that because they got the flu shot it protected them more so and their symptoms were fewer and shorter sick days!Good to be blogging isn't it? Hugs, Anne

I am not so sure about the flu shot NOT working. We did not get the shot. Our oldest, a nursing student in college living at home with us, did get the shot. He was the only one who did NOT get the flu when we got it in December.

I LOLed at your shopping at Walmart. They said the flu shot was only 23% effective this year I heard.

I'd faint from seeing what folks wear at Walmart before not breathing... :)

Parsley,
Your not alone. My husband and I do not like sick people in a store. If we here someone hacking or sneezing and they are in the same aisle. We leave the aisle and hold our breath until we are far enough away.

We will avoid an aisle if we hear someone hacking and sneezing.

I have never had a flu shot and will never have one. My doctor asked me recently if I wanted one I said no. She asked why and I said I prefer not to. She was okay with it. My husband had one in the 70's. It made him very sick and he hasn't had one since.

See your not alone.
