This is where the paths of Parsley and
Sage begin to converge.
Parsley was now 18 and I was 24. I was
working as a Software Engineer off in the "big city" and
loving it but still very alone. I would see Parsley at church and I
knew that she had an amazing singing voice but I didn't think we had
ever spoken to each other.
When the senior prom rolled around for
Parsley one of my cousins who attended her same school asked if I
would drive a limo for him and his prom date. I agreed, but as it
turned out the person they rented the limo from required their own
driver. Instead I was asked to be one of the chaperone's at the
after party at our church.
Around this same time I heard that a
different cousin of mine was taking Parsley to the prom basically
just as friends. I never told anyone but when I heard it I was
jealous. Why did none of my cousins think to bring me into this
equation if she needed a prom date? I then see Parsley at the after
prom party at the church in her shimmering silver dress and she was
very beautiful. There I am still alone and thinking this was just how
my life was going to be.
Next, Parsley was forced to take the steps
that I was too shy to take.

Sage, I hope that you soon got up the courage to ask Parsley out.
One step at a time ...
