Sunday Thoughts: It Is Well With My Soul
This is one of my happy places; my flower bed. I wish you could smell the air. It's so sweet, yet spicy. The fragrance is healing to me somehow.
I find my mood somewhat dampened tonight. My mind is burdened.
As I sat to stitch and listen to instrumental music to clear my mind, this song came on and I found comfort. Regardless of all that has happened or will happen, 'It Is Well With My Soul'.
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

I know this song well, we sing it a lot in church. I hope you will be feeling more at peace.Your flower bed is beautiful!!! We have one like it up against our house, about half the size.
What a beautiful flower bed! That song is so powerful too especially when you realize the circumstances in which it was written. It is always well with our souls knowing how we stand in our Lord's eyes, no matter what else might be going on in our lives....
betty
Find comfort in knowing that you will never suffer alone in troubled times. There will always be some in the world who know exactly how you are feeling and empathy more than sympathy is shared. And yes, music can find it's way into the heart to calm the thunderheads of the soul. I know exactly what you mean. HUGS
Lovely flowers and words, Hugs.
Hugs....
Oh thank you Parsley. That is a great hymn I now have rolling through my head. :) http://astitchersstory.blogspot.com/
I hope you're feeling more at peace now.
The song is beautiful as is your flower bed.
Parsley,
Gardens are happy places. They remind us to stay in the light to grow and bloom. I hope all continues to be well with your soul.

Its good when you can find special places and way to find solace.
One of my absolute favorite hymns...
I love my flowers, too. Your flower bed is really pretty!
You did a great job with the flower bed! I hope you're feeling peaceful now. My mind too has been heavy, but when there is nothing you can do about a situation or nothing someone will let you do to help, it's time to step back and let them handle it with God's help.
Have always loved that song.
I love the old hymns! So beautiful and so are your flowers!
