My cousin likes having medium dogs. She's had a dalmatian, a golden retriever and a chocolate lab. She has one closet designated "the toy hospital" where she stashes overly chewed soft toys until she can see if she can stitch them up. I don't think Justin Beaver is salvageable though. I think it would be pronounced dead on arrival.
