I tell my husband to catch up to them. I told my daughter to wave and see what they did. Of course they happily smiled and waved back.
Later that day we see the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile! My daughter thought it was made up or only a Hot Wheels toy. (none of these images are mine)
What tops this story off, and makes me create this post, is our road sighting weeks later. Our daughter wasn't with us but I was on the phone with her as my husband was driving. All of a sudden, I exclaim "Jesus!?" Then I explain to her, in my best evangelist tone "I've just seen Jeeeezus! He's coming for us, Saints! Gloooreh!"
I didn't expect 'Jeeeezus' to drive a Mazda truck but hey, he can do whatever he wants! We were wondering if he was looking for the Wiener Mobile to suggest Kosher hotdogs, which I love. ;-)

I remember that song - and looks like you had great fun!
I have been to Oklahoma and I do remember some of their music but I don't remember that song.
Its so cool to see quirky stuff like that on the road! I had to chuckle at Moses parting the traffic. That would be NICE!!!
Hi Parsley, great post, smile, I remember that song to. Blessings Francine.
LOL, that was an awesome post! Believe it or not Pa and I saw the Weiner Mobile on I95 North in Massachusettes on our way home from the Up Yonder Weekend...and I craved a hot dog for days, after..."It made me want a hot dog, reeealll baad." :)
Now, of course, I will be on the lookout for Jesus!
Hugs

I only heard of iowa as being compared to heaven!
That is really funny. Thank goodness you didn't yell or do any hand gestures

Moses parting the traffic, BOL funny. Have a lovely Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Wow, you really hit the jackpot! I think Moses died in 2008, so you're outa luck on that one. ;-)
Thanks for making me laugh.
Funny post =)
Don't know that song, but you made me smiled =)

Parsley,
Being Catholic, nuns have always been a part of my life and since I was 13 I've been told I could be a stand in for Sally Fields! (No doubt it's the habit I dress in to get the tax exemption. LOL) I've seen the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile, it's in the city often (Manhattan). I didn't know Jeeeezus drove a Mazda. I thought he was 'just a stranger on a bus, tryin' to make his way home.'
I know the song Sage was referring to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PeBiDfHckg

I've been in Tulsa, Oklahoma... and on the road from there to Armarillo, Texas... but I slept the whole way... so I missed, the not-flying nuns, the weinermobile, Jeeeezus or Moses. Drats.
