Sunday Thoughts: A Friend's Loss

A dear friend lost her father last night. He had been sick for a long time but I don't think one can ever be prepared for such a loss.

He was a good man, a missionary, preacher. He lived the life God called him to live. Our loss is Heaven's gain.

I can't help but wonder where comfort can be found after loosing a loved one if people believe there is no God, no forgiveness, no eternity.

This family trusts in their faith so while he will be missed while we are still on earth, we believe we will see him again. Prayers for the God of peace to comfort them at this time.

It is always hard to lose your father. Praise God that these people understand that God alone gives us 'hope and a future.'

When my mom died, the only thing that kept me going those first few weeks of intense grief was knowing I would see her again for all of eternity and knowing that she was in heaven rejoicing with Jesus. I don't know how anyone who doesn't have a faith gets through life.

I am so sorry for your friend's sorrow in the loss of her beloved father.

Dear Parsley,

Thank you for taking the time to go to Suka's blog and write such kind and loving words of sympathy after his passing. It meant a lot to me. You were one of Suka's earliest blogging friends, and were always so dear to him. Your thoughtful words help me through my grief, just knowing someone cares and understands. Thank you.

Warmly,

KrisAnne (Suka's human)

P.S. So very sorry to read of your friend's dad's passing. Prayers and love to the family.

The loss of a loved one is so sad. But for those of us that believe we know the joy of those reunions someday in heaven! I am sad for your friends loss, joyful he was a believer! November is always sad for me. I lost my precious mom 10 years ago on the 16th. It is also the birthday of my BFF, grandmother who was also my mom's mom. Knowing my grandmother received her sight back and enjoying heaven with all her loved ones makes me smile. A prayer for peace going out to your friend, Love Anne

I am really sorry for your friend and her family :(

I used to be in a place where I didn't think there was a God or an afterlife of any kind... not heaven nor hell. But being a believer now... I know that place I used to be in... was hell itself. I am much happier knowing that there IS a place you can go to after death and that there ARE people who love you who will meet you there on the other side when the time is right. It is a very comforting thought. My faith in that is so strong. Your friend and her family will see Dad loving, smiling and hugging when its their time.
