A Prayer for 2013

This morning, I am reflecting on the year behind us and find myself stepping cautiously into 2013. Seems the world is in a lot of turmoil, confusion, and trouble. I believe that I am here at this time for a purpose and that God knows all. I find comfort in that.

A thought that keeps coming to my mind is 'reconcile'.  I believe people must first reconcile themselves with God before there can be peace between individuals or within a country. It's time to ask God for direction instead of telling him which direction we are going and then expect him to bless it.

My prayer for the New Year is that those that read here find health and happiness in the days to come. I pray God brings us peace in nations and our relationships.

This past year was my "reconcile" year, I think. I kept trying to make amends where ever I could. I didn't purposefully set out to do that... it just became necessary in some situations. I haven't yet decided what 2013 will be for me. In any case, I hope we all have a good 2013!

I don't know if it's just me or my neck of the woods, but I swear since the Sandy Hook shootings, there has been an INCREASE in shootings since. In the short time since then and now. I don't understand what's up with that.

You have it RIGHT! I believe we need to reconcile our lives before we can't, reconcile with all the people we have not gotten along with for one reason or another, we may find that our bickering was all for nothing when you look at the bigger picture. Happy New Year to you!!!

I was thinking of this word too! Everyone seems to think of a word to carry into the new year. Our country is such a state of turmoil for sure! My father use to tell me when I was a younger woman that when I was old like him I would see the world call evil good and good evil! It is so true today. I am praying hard for this nation.Personally I am in a good place mentally with those around me. I found out a long time ago I can only pray for those with differences from mine. I see God working everyday in some way or another and I am going to continue my prayer journey. Please pray for Harold that he receives ore good news from his doctors later this week and pray for Shannon as she is hospitalized for breathing and heart issues. Her sister Linda is in a another state and all she can do is pray too! When Nick leaves school in May for the summer I am hopeful we can meet somewhere and visit for a bit! Pray for Nick as he is looking for a new college. This one is not working out for him with his running. It is long and complicated and I have prayed about it too! I wish you and yours much love, peace and happiness in 2013. Good health and many good wishes to you all. Hugs Anne

Parsley,
AMEN! I think unless we are "one nation UNDER God" we will cease to be a nation {as we once knew it.}
I wish you and your family health, happiness and love.

I just wonder if there is any realistic hope for so many to truly reconcile? It seems to be a meaner, crueler world out there these days.

I will pray and hope there is..
