'Trouble' had the back of his truck off the side of the road and the cars following him had had enough. They had begun to turn their wheels toward the passing side of the street which we were in.
"They don't know you are passing!" I exclaimed. But instead of stopping, my husband honked to tell them he was coming.
He passed and shortly after us one of the other cars made it past 'trouble' too.
I took a deep breath to calm myself. My husband smiled. (He wouldn't have been smiling if they had ran into us.) I told him it would serve us right to get to the store and not have any cashiers there because of the road conditions.
We didn't find the parking lot empty so we went into the store for 'nothing' and yet somehow filled the cart. We slipped around as we walked back to the car in the parking lot and I saw triumph on my husband's face. (It must be some primal 'hunter gatherer' thing.)
As we embarked toward home I suggested the town route to avoid more 'trouble' drivers. My husband slyly grinned and turned the other way...toward more ice and trouble.
We did make it home safe but not 'sound' because no truly sane person would have tempted fate as we did.
Will my husband drive into town with the next snow? Yes. Will I go with him? Likely. I just hope we avoid 'trouble'.

Must be a "man" thing....but I'm still shaking my head. I think that there is no need to get out on the icy roads unless it's an emergency....just my thinking.
Hugs,
J.
I hate to get out on snowy or icy roads. I am glad you are both safe!
Gosh glad all was OK. We used to stay in a place that had a road through the forest. When cold it would be like an ice-rink. No matter how slow you went you'd be frightened you'd swerve and end up in a ditch. As there were very few cars around it was kind of fun. Have a super snow free & safe Saturday.
Best wishes Molly
I am so glad you came out of this with yourselves and the car intact. Actually, your husband must be a very good driver to have gotten through this. I can see it must take a special kind of woman to be married to him.
What a great story. Glad you made in safely.
Linda
So glad you are safe.
I hate driving in winter weather! It's always the teenagers around here that "just have" to go somewhere on the worst days.
Glad you got to and from the store safely.
I suppose it could be one of his ways of bringing excitement and emotion to the relationship ;-)
Parsley,
Imagine if you had gotten home only to realize "oh no, we forgot to get milk!" Although I'm sure 'Sage' wouldn't have minded.
I picture you riding shot gun, wearing a helmet.
:)

Happy New Year dear friend. I wish the New year brings you lots of happiness and joy. May God shower his abundant blessings upon you all year round.
Glad you are all safe! We are cold here. Brrr....it is in the 20s with more snow predicted! Sigh! We need the moisture. Stay warm and cozy! Hugs Anne
So glad you made it back home safely.
I used to drive school bus in that sort of weather. I was scared to death at first but then realized that it was actually easier than driving my car in it (and people tend to be careful when they see a big bus headed their way on bad roads). teehee
I have giggled my way through reading this adventure, I could just imagine you shouting at him. I would have been under the seat scared to death! Lol
LOL - he Tarzan - you Jane!
...but which pet is Cheeta? or do you still need to get one of those?
