"But WHY? Is there something you NEED?", I asked my husband as he loaded up to go to the store BECAUSE we have icy roads.
"Nope, but let's go!", he replied.
That man of mine looks for a reason to test his vehicles on the snow and ice. The big test is always the country road in front of our house. The hills are steep and slick for days longer than other roads because it's shaded by trees.
Even though I had stocked up on ample provisions so we wouldn't have to shop over the holiday, I decided to go with my family. I figure if we died, we would all die together.
The all wheel drive car wasn't shaken or stirred. It laughed at the crystal road covering. Hills? Bah hum bug.
As we took the next road, I saw a truck fish-tailing down the road. It began to angle toward us! My husband pulled off the road to avoid a possible collision. I started sounding like one of 'those' women...you know the ones? The ones who say "You're going to get us killed!" "We are going to get stuck in a ditch!" A wee bit nagging.
You know what that man did? Smiled and reassured me. I could not calm the storm brewing inside me but I did manage to shut my mouth. (temporarily)
The truck corrected itself and turned down the next street. We got back on the road and turned down the same street. Oh yes...we were following trouble.
More tomorrow.... ;-)

Yikes. Driving in that stuff is not fun. Tell him to drive up and down the driveway, BOL

Ditto Yikes what happened? Take care. You have cold storms whilst we are drowning in yet more rain. Have a terrific snuggle up Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
I live vicariously through this post...we have no snow, no ice, and no drivers who test their skills on such roads. Looking forward to the next post.
:))
Hugs,

LOL, you are a kindred spirit, my dear :) I BTDT so many times with Pa that I can't count them all...in fact, I can recite most prayers while holding a regular conversation from all the times that we have slip-slided through a snow storm, just so he could test his snow tires...must be a man thang!
I have the same motto, btw, we all die together, lol!
Glad you all were safe...so far...will check back tomorrow ;) ;)
Hugs

I think your husband sounds like a very silly man. No more driving in ice than absoultely necessary!
Oh boy...I can't wait to hear the rest of this!
our mom hates to drive in bad road weather so she walked to work this morning and fell right on her butt in front of the office.hehehheeh

Apparently, because you were able to post about it, you survived! Thank God!
Wow, this story reminds me of my childhood. My mom was a worrier and "hissed" at my dad, flailing for the handles & straps, and bracing for impact. But he always had it under control, and we never had a crash. But we were driving in slick rainy weather in the south, instead of snow. Can't wait for the next episode of your story.
Men...I wish we would have some snow so that the Ranger could plow something and get it out of his system.
Glad you are safe.
Men are certainly different drivers than women for sure! Glad everyone was fine! white knuckles and all!
Ah... someone with hair (that belongs) on his chest!
:)
