Stop, breathe, pray

I did my best to avoid posting about the shooting tragedy in CT but today I would like to just share these thoughts.

Laws were broken (both God's and man's) and lives were lost. Evil exists. Now is not the time to logically debate policy because emotions are running high. Let's take a moment to stop, breathe, and pray.

We are grieving as these families prepare funerals when they should be enjoying Christmas preparations.

"God, please be with these families and all those affected. Please give us serenity and wisdom in the coming days."

My peeps dad died when they were little just before Christmas and they remember opening presents that were from someone no longer there. Imagine the cruelty for those left behind. We can only just touch the edges of it. We pray for them all.
Best wishes Molly

I couldn't stop crying when I heard about all those children and teachers being killed. I'm praying for the families and the community. My heart breaks for them.

I'm so sad for our country that things like this happens. What scares me is the more press these events receive it seems the more they happen. :( what a world we live in.......

Praying for the ones who lost their lives and for those who lost their loved ones. One of the teachers was a friend of my daughter's friend and she died just during the year she thought gave her job security.

Parsley,
Thank you for once again speaking my mind. AMEN.
There are no words for times like these, just profound sadness. Still, I know God hears what's in our hearts.
Your Friend,

Beautifully said! Too much information everywhere. I think the families deserve our prayers and our compassion and we need to let them grieve privately. I hate the news how they constantly push and poke and probe! This is no time for political agendas either. The only good is the fact that all these precious souls are with the Lord and that is the only comfort I can see.

I can't understand why this young man did what he did - his broken family was probably at least a small cause - what I dread is the usual political knee-jerkism that will come "after the fact, as usual" that will not address the actual problem(s) that led to the event.
