Wiped Slick

It's the little victories in a homemaker's life that make her feel accomplished. After a month of sitting on my behind more, I've been trying to get back to normal activities like cleaning.

No doubt you can imagine how hard water and soap scum made the shower stall look after a month or more of no scrubbing. Yesterday, I tackled this one task. My normal scrubber sponge and Comet cleaner got the top layers of gunk off but I could not make the floor of the shower look clean.

I got out my 'Magic Eraser' and it worked like magic for sure! All those little grooves in the floor were white again and it was 'wiped slick'. So was I.

I rested the remainder of the day but my little cleaning victory made me feel like I was winning over this 'thing'.

What is your least favorite household task?  Do you have any cleaning tricks to share? I hope you'll post some this week or in the comments below.

(I never updated you all on Cookie. She is all healed!)

I hate house cleaning AT ALL. Bath tubs are the worst. I feel like I can never ever get the bottom to be sparkling white and clean... because the material is fiberglass, not porcelain. I really wish we never opted for fiberglass bath tubs, they SUCK!

YAY for Cookie and YAY for you! Baby steps, baby!

mom hates cleaning the shower but now that you talked about the white square thing we will definitely try that...we usually make our own windex and have always liked it but our last batch causes streaks so we hate it now...we have old glass doors in our house so mom is ocd about it...course she usually cleans them, and then mags and i leave puppy paw prints all over them, or dad touches them with his hands.....sigh...

p.s. the windex recipe can be found on pinterest

You said it. Cleaning the bathroom is the worst! Does the Magic Eraser work? I have always wondered...

Definitely hate cleaning the glass shower doors. We have very hard water and alot of lime build up.

Heat vinegar in a glass cup in the microwave about a minute - just til hot. Be careful not to breathe the vinegar fumes. Gently drop the faucet aerator in and watch it fizz away. I have a small shower head that fits in my two cup measuring cup so it gets the vinegar treatment too.

Glad to hear Cookie is healed!

I strongly dislike cleaning bathrooms so I don't. My husband has been delegated to that task. Cooking is another household task I don't like. But I love to do laundry and things like vacuuming or dusting aren't bad either.

So glad that Cookie is healed. My least favorite cleaning job is dusting.

I loathe putting laundry away, I'd rather clean the toilet! Cleaning the oven is another chore I dislike with a passion...probably why it never gets done!

I guess I could say dusting is my least favorite chore. Probably because of all the stuff I have to move to do it properly.
I use Comet spray cleaner and a dobie for my tub and shower, and sinks. It gets all that gunk off better than anything else I've used but watch out for the fumes!

Yikes cleaning, you are making peeps feel guilty. We are waiting for a mammoth Spring clean in a week or so. Well that is what the peeps keeps saying. Our top tip which is just an old fashioned cleaner is vinegar and newspaper on glass windows. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly

Sooooo happy for you, dear, that you are active again, and have a clean shower. Congrats to Cookie on her healing, too!

I dislike scrubbing the shower, too. It's my least favorite chore.

Parsley,
I'm glad you are feeling well enough to get some chores done. Accomplishments, even small ones, always makes one feel better. My least favorite chore is dusting. Old houses with plaster walls and radiators manufacture dust.

I absolutely hate cleaning the bathroom!!

Washing the kitchen floor is my least fave. Mine is a really big area and it doesn't get truly clean unless you do it on hands and knees. So grungy in the back entry where everyone drags in dirt from the garage and snow, etc. from outside.

Going to have to get myself a Magic Eraser. It sounds like a wonderful tool to have!
Least favorite chore: loading and unloading the dishwasher. Second least favorite: folding clothes.

I really don't like taking the trash out but I really hate scrubbing toilets. Probably because I spent a summer working at the county fairgrounds and doing disgusting things like scrubbing public toilets.

When I saw those wild hogs yesterday, I kept thinking "bacon!"

I am not a fan of housecleaning either... But I was thinking of trying those Magic Erasers... now I am more convinced to get one or two, however they come! Glad you are on the mend... Take it easier tho! Hugs!

Probably cleaning the bathroom...all the parts except the mirrors. I enjoy cleaning mirrors!! I am trying to use all natural/organic homeopathic cleaning supplies and I find it hard to resist some good ol' fantastic or windex!!

Limescale on the shower screen is a bummer to remove, I have never found a really effective way other than to clean it every day.

Least favourite chore - polishing brass.

The photos of the hogs - my heart went out to the lame one but I can see that they could be dangerous too. Wish we could all love in harmony.
