Stitchy FINISH and April's toy

I'm so happy! I finished my first flower in My Garden Journal and I LOVE, LOVE it! I stitched it on Golden dyed Monaco with DMC threads. I really enjoyed this stitch and can't wait to see what others do with these patterns. I think I will finish these flat with ribbon for hanging. (Join our easy going SAL here.)

Today is April's adoption day so I got her a toy. I figured I'd let her murder it at the cost of about a dollar a minute, and in her opinion, it was worth every cent.

I'm not familiar with the Garden Journal project, but I LOVE the piece you posted above! That line is in a song from the play version of The Sound of Music (I don't think it's in the movie version?) but I now have the song stuck in my head! Lol! At least it's a beautiful sentiment and a beautiful song to have in ones head. ;) I believe it's from the intro for the reprise to "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" and just recently I was watching a special on PBS about Rodgers and Hammerstein and they specifically pointed out this line and talked about how much Mary Martin LOVED it, as Hammerstein wrote the verse especially for her. Well, there's my trivia for the day! As my grandmother used to say, "That and a nickel will get you a seat on the subway." LOL.
