After the Oklahoma Storms

Like many from my state, I have a heavy heart. So much death and destruction. Words can't even begin to describe the pain people must be feeling today.

My family and I are safe. Thank you for all the emails of concern. I am well South of Moore, Oklahoma and family/friends that live closer to the area are okay...but so many are not.

We will be supporting them with prayer and find other ways to help as well. Why? Because it could have been me... It could have been my child... It could have been my home...

Storms are still brewing this morning and rain is pouring, but nothing tornadic that I am aware of.

Here are pictures we took after the worst of it split around our county last night. Amazing.

I was thinking of you yesterday when I heard of all this terrible news. I am so glad you're OK. We will continue to hold these folks up in our prayers from here in KY.

We just watched the news clip you put on FB. Brought tears to our eyes!

I "experienced" a tornado a couple times while living in Indiana years ago - they were both "small" ones and a mile or so away - what I remember most was their random, unpredictably; their explosiveness when they hit a barn (it was there and then it wasn't); and how weird the sky looked - I have never seen colors like that before or since.

I am glad you and yours are okay. So many folks in your general area (Texas too, with the fertilizer plant explosion, and recent tornado) and now this one - there is and will be much suffering.

We need to all help our suffering neighbors as best we can - one never knows when/if the shoe will be on the other foot.

We are so glad your family is alright and safe.
My sister lives outside of Lawton Oklahoma, her husband retired from the Army and they have a ranch outside of there.

I am so glad that you are ok. I was praying as soon as I saw the area the tornadoes where in.

My prayers continue for all affected. We had an F5 tornado when I was 15 back in Ohio. We escaped injury or damage, but it was still horrible.

God Bless.

Amy

Hello Sweet Friend...
I am SO thankful that you and yours are ok. My family is as well. You know most of ours is in Enid, but we do have DH's brother and sister around OKC.. They are all fine.

So happy that the duck story made you smile. Scared the heck out of me though. I ducked because it was such a loud swoosh coming out of the sky, I truly was not sure what it was, and when I turned there they were. Just the two of them.

Have a glorious weekend sweet friend. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

Dear Parsley,
You know you've been on my mind and in my prayers as is everyone that was anywhere near these paths of destruction. Having been through a derecho and Hurricane Sandy last year and Hurricane Irene before that, I know the hardships faced in the aftermath. Your photographs are stunning.
Your Friend,
Deborah

Good Morning Parsley
yes it is still so sad being an Okie, and Moore is where I am from. and Having family in the storm, there is no way to describe the fear watching it on TV and knowing it is going directly over a family member

Glad you and your family are ok

Your photos are wonderful. I so glad you were safe. There were so many storms going on that I was worried about you and yours. Losing all the children, It is always so sad to lose children. The only good there is in life and losing a child is that the Lord is there to take them home with Him. It is a comfort to me when I know someone personally who loses a child. All of the different stories I am hearing are heart breaking and touching all in one! Nick's roommate lives in OKC and he and his family were all ok as the storm was not near them. His former room mate left Wichita the morning a tornado hit a short distance from the airport! He was heading home to Ireland and I know the Lord was watching out for him.
