Some Christmas

My daughter's best friend/'adopted sister' came over last night to watch Polar Express, have cocoa, and make a gingerbread house together. I surprised them with Doctor Who travel mugs. Only 'Whovians' will appreciate these. ;-)

I have been super busy with dog sitting but I LOVE it and am thankful for the work, especially this time of year. There is a lot of Christmas Spirit around here. We are preparing for doing our 'Secret Santa' where we drop off gifts to random homes. We trust we will be guided by THE Christmas Spirit as to who needs cheer. My daughter leaves a gift, knocks, and RUNS! We speed off hoping no one calls the cops. Last year she kept tripping on people's porch chairs and the like. HA!

I gave our daughter a budget and she decided to chip in her own money to make additional gift bags. That touched me. We got enough for 10 gifts, each bag will have a winter blanket, cocoa and cookies with a note saying God loves them and Merry Christmas.

From my home to you...MERRY CHRISTMAS!! May you find yourself wrapped in the love of family and friends.

Parsley I think I may have to try that this year. It sounds like so much fun. Thank you for my snowman patterns I won in your giveaway. Can't wait to stitch some. You are such a blessing. Your christian spirit is beautiful.

I love it when you do that. I've thought about following suit. Lots of kids in the neighborhood, I thought of buckets of chalk for them to use on the sidewalk or driveway. But the true meaning of christmases always catches me by surprise. One year my driveway was shovelled free of snow. Just mine. Nobody else's. I could not figure that out, but I was very pleased with that. So I paid it forward by leaving a plate of cookies at a random neighbor's doorstep. This year I bought a doll for a little girl who really wanted one and her mother was having trouble finding it. So it was a gift for the parent as well as the child. It leaves you feeling... grand :)
