What do you want?

"What do you want for Christmas?" I found myself scrambling for words. I didn't 'want' anything but since this is an opportunity to get something I needed, I picked out a new coat. I also got some other 'needs' a bit early. ;-)

I'm reminded of the song 'Grown-up Christmas List'. I have a few biggies. Of course I could go on and on but I'll keep it short.

I wish for all dogs and cats to have a warm, kind home. No more being chained to a post out in the cold. No more dumped dogs and cats on the street.

I wish for all children to have a home. No more feeling like no one wants them. No more abuse or neglect.

I wish for true tolerance, equality, and freedom. I guess it took a 'duck call' to show there is a real problem in this area. Traditional Christianity as Phil Robertson holds to is being mocked. This is an issue that needs to be discussed but not here, not now.  Ravi Zacharias was once asked why he hadn't responded to criticism against him and I will borrow his response as my own: "To give truth to him who loves it not is to only give him more multiplied reasons for misinterpretation. I have better things to do."

I think your list is perfect! My husband had a heart attack last Christmas and is not doing well right now. I wish for a quiet Christmas and for my husband to feel my love and my prayers for his improved health.
