Valentine crafting and HIJACKED blogs

Here's a quick post on what little crafting I was able to do in spite of my class work. I made these for Sarah Beth for a Valentine exchange. The tiny pillow was a pattern from The Stitcherhood. I also made her an Altoid travel tin using a cute cat pattern from Lynn B. at 'happiness is cross stitching' . I included a heart box I painted and a mini cupcake pin cushion. I included bought items as well but not pictured.

As part of some surprises, I made additional pillows in different colors and made more heart boxes and pin cushions. It was fun to craft instead of study for a little bit.

Studies are keeping me busy but I am really enjoying learning about emergency medical skills. It takes me away from crafting but it also has another downside. We had snow and I took our daughter sledding. Every time she fell off and lay on the ground a moment, I had quick rush of worry that she could be hurt. The more you know, the more you worry. HA!

On a COMPLETELY different note...I opened up blogger's dashboard a couple of days ago and saw porn links in my newsfeed.

The problem was that I could see the URL and link and could see the blogs I was following but it was NOT LISTED in my list of blogs I read.

I began going through each blog I read, one by one. After deleting a few 'dead but not burried' blogs, it went away. It was either an old deleted blog that was invisibly attached to an inactive but valid blog or something else. Hmm.

FYI... Let people know if you change blog addresses so we can delete the old one from our feeds and avoid this fiasco ;-)  AND...if you see someone closed a blog, take it off your feed because terrible things happen to the blog address soon after it's been retired. Ick!

I had a couple new odd ones come up in my feed too..how do I get rid of them?

They are in my feed too. Ugh! I will do what you did and clean out old blogs and see if that works to get rid of them. There have to be about 50+ posts from it. Ugh

That is the trouble with knowing more you worry more. Re the blog thing not sure how that came about? Strange and annoying. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly

Gorgeous pillows :o) I love the kitty design you used on the travel tin - great idea :o)
I had some of those horrible feeds as well... My weekend job is to go through all my feeds and delete any blogs that haven't had a post in the last 9-12 months.
Hope there is not going to be anymore hijacked blogs.....
Hugs x

It is blogs that are no longer used; they are taken over. Nasty and unfair. I know what you mean about the knowledge: as a biologist, I knew far too much about my condition to feel comfortable. Ignorance would have been bliss so I could focus on the positives and not the what ifs lol. Keep it up: we are all holding you in our hearts because we know you will be amazing!

Parsley -
Love the name of the stitching group -- the stitcher hood! The gifts you create are always a treat and made with love. I understand your comments of knowing too much (all that could go wrong).
I looked at my blog and everything seems secure.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Your stitching has come a long way! You must have confidence (it is merited) in what you do. :)

I will check my list of blogs to see if any of them are "dead". I know a lot of them are inactive.

You did a good job for the exchange. I try to keep my blog reader clear of "dead" blogs. I haven't seen porn links but I have seen some "odd" postings about stuff I knew had nothing to do with the blog in quesiton.
