Coons!

A friend had a nest of raccoons in her attic/fireplace and she moved the nest. The mother did not come back to take the babies. She had five babies that needed help. I drove my daughter to pick up two of the baby raccoons. Crossing fingers they both make it! The only girl is a runt and acts weak.

Have you ever helped rescue a 'wild' animal? I'd love to know your stories.

We so hope they make it. Bless you for coming to the rescue. We have tried to rescue many critters in need but unfortunately the outcome has never been good. By the time we have found them probably too little too late. Good luck. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly

Racoons? Oooh it's something we don't seem to have here. It's lovely to see little baby ones. I hope they can make it, keep us in the loop!

My sister-in-law lives on a farm and took care of three babies after their mom was struck by a car. She had a difficult time once they were older and needed to be outside learning how to live on their own. Two survived and still come to the back door for handouts. Good luck with your little ones.

I was lucky enough to help raise some baby coons when I was younger. They are so much fun. Love them. My aunt always had some animal at her house. Baby deer, possum, skunks, coons, tortoise, snakes, spiders and what not. I just loved stopping there cause you knew she would have some amazing animal. She would rehabilitate them. Local people knew if they found something to call her.

I've never tended to a wild animal - I have taken birds to the wild bird hospital a couple times - one was a mean (okay, he was upset because he was hurt) little hawk with a hurt wing - he healed and was released and one was a Pelican that swallowed a lead weight and the hook and line were tangled in his bill. The hospital got the mess extracted - the bird put on a good fight when I was putting him the car to take him there though!

They are precious! How do you "raise" them so they can be released back into their environment?

It is going to be fun watching the progress of you and DD raising them! From the angle of the last pic, they're cuter and fuzzy looking. Crossing fingers and praying they both bloom and grow under your TLC!

hooooo so adorable
I hope everything will go well for them, give us some news from time to time :)
I can't speak about any experience with a wild animal because it seems that wild animals are really not frequent here :)
But I'd really love to live such an experience !!!
have a great weekend

Parsley,
They look like they are only a week old. :(
Although the best situation is always letting wild animals tend to their young uninterrupted in the wild, these two are blessed to be in you and your family's hands {literally!}

Oh, I hope they make it. We had a nest of bunnies disturbed by a dog when I was growing up. My Aunt raised the bunny and he lived with her for years. I hope that they are doing well!

Bless you! I am too terrified of wild animals and would have taken them to a shelter.

Aw....so cute! My cousin who owns a big property in Westcliff, CO. once took in a bear who had been injured. She is like that helping out hen there are fires and floods and such. We tried to rehabilitate a couple birds once but lost them. My sister was always good at rescuing kittens. She raised a pair once that lived well into old age and were wonderful companions for her.
