I've only stitched a couple of strands so no real progress to show BUT I do have other things to 'show and tell' from my busy week.
On Saturday, March 1, my daughter and I participated in the 'Glow Run 5K'. It was a night-time run and several areas along the run were lit with black lights which made our neon shirts, facepaint, and glow sticks shine bright! Fun! BUUUUT...that day a polar vortex came in. It was below freezing at race time with a wind and a cold mist.

My daughter ran only a little ways before she had a severe asthma attack. I took her back to my husband where we gave her a breathing treatment and kept her in the warm car. I started the race over and not only did I finish but I RAN much of it. This is a real praise to God because my fast heart rate was NOT an issue that night.
Monday we still had ice and snow on the roads. Close to our home, a truck slid off the road and flipped upside down in a ditch. The pagers went off and my husband and I were the first responders on scene. The wreck looked so bad but amazingly all were okay. It just took a lot of hands to get the remaining person out!

I'm loving my EMT classes. Truly having a fantastic time! Wednesday I worked a 12 hour shift at the emergency room. I saw all kinds of stuff and it was awesome! (Gangrene anyone?) I did not see trauma, stitches, or childbirth but almost every other thing came to the ER. It was so busy there was a 3-4 hour wait and we were really booking it! I was exhausted but loved every moment.
So...that's all for now. I'm going to enjoy the weekend reading more of your blogs and perhaps stitch a little before opening the books again.
TTFN...tah tah for now.

How exciting! What all were you able to do in the ER? That is just so awesome-ish cool! And to be on scene to help with that truck. Goosebumps! I am glad all are OK. At least it wasn't gangrene on old man bits, was it? Someday I will run a 5k and you'll be with me in spirit.
I hope you have a great weekend Parsley. You are doing a great work with your new EMT job.
Very busy indeed…but blessed :) I'm so glad that you are enjoying your classes and I can just imagine how truly safe and cared for every person who comes in contact with you feels…
Stay safe and keep us all posted as time permits…and I haven't even started my BAP, so take a deep breath and don't pressure yourself over that one :)

The best part of this post is the news you are feeling good (enough to run in the nasty cold) and enjoying new life experiences!!!

P.s., you need a "first responders" outfit ... you know, a helmet and yellow coat!
Very busy indeed. Glory be to God. For the good run, for your help in the ER and for helping those people out of the wreck. God uses wonderful people like you to do wonderful things.

I hope the folks in the car were ok after their accident.
Sounds like you are enjoying life at the moment, even with its business.
Well done on the run, hope DD is all recovered and well again after her asthma attack.
So cool hearing about all you're up to. I'm so glad that you're enjoying your EMT classes - looks like you're having plenty of chances to use your knowledge, too!

You are really making a difference in the world with your EMT work! So glad the car occupants were okay... I know how scary the asthma thing is... my youngest son has exercise induced asthma, too. Hope she feels okay by now.
