Sage's Side-Final

You already know what Parsley did to get my attention so I will try to explain what I was thinking during each of these encounters.

When she came to my table at the restaurant and offered to buy my meal with the Christ-Charge card I was actually shocked that she even knew who I was. I really didn't know how to react. Remember, this was uncharted territory for me.

Then came the after church book offer with the date of my choice. Now I was really knocked off balance. My brain was racing but getting nowhere. I was lucky to come up with that eloquent two word sentence of "no thanks". After leaving and trying to figure what just happened I started to wonder if Parsley could actually be interested in me. Yes, I know it should have been obvious by now but I still had trouble believing it.

Well, I kept visiting the little restaurant where my cousin worked and Parsley was often there. We actually started talking and getting to know each other a little bit. Now I'm intrigued but still hesitant. This is when Parsley invited me to the little cookout that wasn't really planned until I actually said yes. So we picked up some food and had a little cookout behind Parsley's Grandparents' house with several other friends from church.

Parsley then unexpectedly touched me on the shoulder and yes I did recoil a little from the shock that this girl just touched me. I am finally starting to get the hint that somehow Parsley might actually like me. I was still so nervous but I somehow got up the courage and asked her out for the next weekend. Can you believe she said yes? That was a long week waiting to go on date number 3 of my entire life. We had dinner and went to a movie and I had great time. Just a couple of weeks later we both knew beyond a shadow of doubt that we were meant for each other.

I had almost given up but God really did have the perfect plan for my life. I was spared the pain of the dating life most people go through and I'm probably in a fairly small group that can say that my first kiss was with my soon to be wife. Almost 23 years of true bliss later I am still amazed at how blessed I have been to have Parsley as my wife and best friend. Sage
