A Symbol

To Christians, a cross is more than a piece of jewelry. It is a symbol of a resurrected savior.

To Americans, our flag should be more than a metal pin on a coat. It is a symbol of freedom and sacrifice.

Symbols have deep meaning and as we raise our flag today, we lift our prayers to God, trusting him in all circumstances.

God bless America.

Well said. We went and exercised our right to vote today and remembered everyone who fought to get us that right.

Parsley,
I was the first one in line when the polls opened yesterday. I am trying to understand exactly what the cheering is for. High unemployment? Higher taxes? More expensive healthcare with worse quality? More international ridicule and terrorist attacks? Higher gas prices? Lower dollar value? I am only comforted by my belief in God.
