My daughter plays an online horse game. She got a pony, raised it, breed it, and then raised the foal to repeat the process. She 'earned' play money and bonuses for her hard work and time on the game.
She would sometimes give away horses or items on the game. She made friends, guided new players, and felt a sense of accomplishment.
The moderators had a 'great' new idea to reduce the amount of bonuses that players could store, even though they earned them. They took away from her game account. They also gave newer players free bonuses and extra play money because some were complaining it was too hard.
Others had the same opportunity as my daughter. They had the same starting point, so why couldn't they do the same as she did?
In real life, we should show compassion to others, like my daughter did. Give because you feel led. Share because it brings you joy. But, we have moderators that try to equalize the playing field by taking away from those that have worked for it, and giving it to those who complain that they want what the others have.
Wonder if my daughter will play anymore.
That is a game, this is not.

The online world is different. She might lose interest.
Morning.....my my, what is this world coming to????? can`t even play a online game and do good at it ......Blessings Francine.
Wow that is scary that the present view of taking from the rich and giving to the poor crept into the online world of a simple game like this. Sad too!

Its so hard when a game really affects your self esteem. Or your child's self esteem. So hard to watch. I know those game makers just want to make things more challenging, but this is not fair. Betty had a very interesting viewpoint though. Real life transitioned to online games. Wow.
That is just wrong....
That is not right. I hate it when they say things like we are all winner blah blah blah. If someone tries really hard and succeeds surely they should be allowed some feeling of triumph. Take care. Have a terrific Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
Wonderful post.
So sad - it really is like life. A few people cry foul, and ruin it for everyone.

I know a lot of people that are sick of the game and want to call it quits. “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed.”

Have to admit I don't know much about it. sandie
That horsey game sounded fun until they cut the bonuses from people who worked hard for it and gave it to newbies that haven't done anything

Wanting to do something and being forced to do something... big difference!
