Boo-Boos

Our family took a much needed weekend away and went to Branson, MO. We spent Friday letting our daughter ride the rides at Silver Dollar City. That evening she was going to check out the hotel's pool. I opted for a relaxing hot bath.

I'm sitting in the tub, hair in suds, one leg shaved and I hear a knock at the door. My husband answered it and it was our daughter with bloody arms and a bloody foot.

"WHAT HAPPENED?!" my husband exclaimed. After looking at it he relayed back to me that it was okay but she needed some first aide.

I dressed quickly while he went to the car for his kit. She rinsed off the blood and we tag-teamed her. I called out what I needed and he dug into his bag for the peroxide, bandages, tape, scissors, etc.  This is how she ended up looking before going to bed that night...

Poor kid. She didn't have a chance not looking like a mummy. Dad is a first responder and I'm almost an EMT. HA!

After the initial care was given we went back to see her trail of blood. We even took pictures so she could gross out her friends. It must have been a doozy of a fall! Luckily, it was only bruises, abrasions, and an ankle sprain. I can't imagine how my first 'real' patients will look after I finish with them. ;-)

Yeah, I'm glad to hear she's okay too, although pretty sore for a while, I'll bet! So nice to have two trained in emergencies, though. That's great!
