Time for a treat?

This Memorial Day weekend, and week, I have had a major load of dog clients here. My six plus 12-13 extra dogs! Which means 18-19 dogs in my care at the same time! A lot of work, I'll say, and I feel I deserve a treat. After all, hubby just got a military kitchen from a government auction without much prior thought, so why not get something for myself?! (I seriously have no idea WHY he did that but I'm trying to just shake my head and move on.)

I keep asking myself what kind of treat. I rarely shop unless I NEED something, and other than needing some clothes since I have not bought clothes in years, all I can think of buying is cross stitching supplies. Even that makes me feel guilty since school has kept my needle quiet and I have items waiting to be stitched. (Sigh.)

If you could get yourself one, small-treat, what would it be?? Seriously, I want to know. Am I alone in feeling guilty for wanting something 'just because'?

No, you aren't the only one who feels guilty about purchasing a just because for yourself. I do have a question for you. What is a military kitchen?

Enjoy your week, Parsley!

PS Hmmm...there are two British cross stitch magazines that I want. Guess that would be my treat to myself.

If I could buy a treat for myself I'd purchased one of the Hawk Run Hollow patterns for myself. And I would not feel guilty one bit - I deserve it and so do you!

Don't feel guilty we think a little treat now and again is fine. Not sure what it would be as we tend to buy treats for others not ourselves. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly

A military kitchen?? As in a huge stainless steel range? Tell us more!

As for the little something, don't feel guilty. The two little somethings I always want are

a) a little piece of extremely dark chocolate and

b) a little long-haired German Shepherd puppy.

sigh. I know. The chocolate is about $4. and the GSD is about $3000 dollars. Hm. Wonder which I'll get.

Everyone needs a treat once in awhile. For myself, a DQ vanilla cone usually works.

Everyone needs and deserves a treat from time to time! Don't feel guilty--you work hard and study hard and just want a special little something now and then :) I treat myself with a wonderful piece of chocolate each and every day!

I think we all need some kind of a treat now and then, something that will put a smile on your face. It could be that special chocolate bar, or a new bag (I love my bags!), a cute top, or maybe a pedicure. Let us know what you choose to do. :)

It's nice to have a treat and you have been working really hard recently.

For me, a nice treat would be tea and a lovely cake with a friend, a treat to share.

I think you deserve a treat and shouldn't feel guilty about it. Early on, Hubby and I agreed that we would each get a set amount of money to spend anyway we want so we never have to feel guilty about buying something.

What is a military kitchen?

Go directly to wherever you need to go and get that treat!!! You deserve it!

I think it is in your nature to feel guilty for wanting something for yourself. You don't usually treat yourself. You've been careful with the pennies and you've worked hard for what you have. You DO need to treat yourself once in a while though, it makes the spirit happy. So I hope you go for it, whatever it may be.

A single treat to myself would probably be chart BBD chart as I love them or a Nora Corbett pixie couture chart. i always feel guilty about buying myself treats which is silly because I happily spend money on others. xx

Parsley,
These days a treat for me is (uninterrupted) time to myself! I have no problems giving to others but, like you, feel guilty when I do something for me. Thomas and I go for monthly massages. (I also get monthly facials!) They are a real treat!

Perhaps if the treat was something useful you wouldn't feel guilty...

Hmmm... perhaps a kit to sew up fancy pot holders for that new kitchen!? :)

Go on...have a treat! There are two things that I would treat myself to at the moment - Bothy Threads King and Queens or The Little Stitcher's 12 Days of Christmas. Both sound cheaper than a military kitchen!
